Fineform Tops and Panels

About Us

In 1996 we started with the basic postforming equipment contact adhesive spindle moulder static postformer, hand tools, jigs and a panel saw.

I could see a need to change to improve both our quality and efficiency. Firstly we put in a PVA Press followed by a flow through post former. This gave us better performance and lower emissions.
Next we installed CNC router machine to do all our mitres and to size the tops. This gave us a higher degree of accuracy and consistently better quality mitres.

As the laminate got thinner and with higher glosses introduced we became more dissatisfied with the quality of the surface because the PVA was leaving swell spots or dimpling and the heat from the press was bowing the board.

In July 2008 we became the only postformer in NSW using a Homag Fritz FLW310 PUR Press with all laminate brands. This system uses a very thin layer of polyurethane glue. The Board and Laminate are not put under large amounts of heat or pressure. Glue is applied to the board and the Laminate is simply rolled into the glue on the board using a pressure roller.
There is no swelling and no heat stress introduced into the substrate (no bowing). It gives a superior finish to all laminates but in particular the gloss finishes, they are very flat and of the highest quality, with excellent light refraction.

In September 2008 we installed a Homag VFL610 direct postformer. It machines and forms the profile in one continuous movement. This machine gives the highest quality postformed edge available with consistency in the profile and a flush finish underneath. The machine is also capable of postforming melamine and ply veneer doors and panels.

In July 2010 we installed a Homag Venture 22L CNC BAZ machine with edge banding. We are using diamond cutters to give us the best mitres and machined edges possible. This machine also machines and edges shapes such as office corner desks, oval, circles etc

In July 2012 we installed a 40kw solar system to lower our power bills and to reduce our carbon foot print on the environment.

We are a constantly evolving company looking to the latest technology to both improve our quality and efficiency. With the machinery and tooling that we have, we feel we are producing tops of the highest quality, available in Australia.
